The name Julie Garella is synonymous with women and business. A frequent lecturer and author on the subjects that most affect the growth and exit strategies of privately held businesses, Ms. Garella has appeared on the cover of Fortune Small Business, and her thoughts on business strategy discussed in numerous publications including The Deal, Inc, The Wall Street Journal, and Business Week.
Before forming Grayhorse Capital Partners, Julie held the position of senior vice president and director for Citigroup’s Capital Strategies Division, where she was responsible for hiring and managing a national team of seasoned professionals and securing M&A engagements for the firm with privately held companies in the middle market. During her tenure, the group was ranked #1 as the Leading Private Company Advisors for deal values to $100mm by Thompson Financial.
Prior to joining Citi, Julie partnered with Hugh McColl, the former chairman of Bank of America to form McColl Garella, an investment banking firm focused on mergers, acquisitions and raising capital exclusively for woman owned and led companies.
Ms. Garella has served on the Women’s Leadership Board of the Kennedy School at Harvard University, on the Board of Directors for North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry, The Center for Women's Business Research, and the Women President’s Organization.
Currently Ms. Garella serves as trustee for the Williston Northampton School and recently published Capitalize on Your Success: The Ultimate Guide To Getting The Money Growing The Business and Doing The Deal.
